Rockwell Mixed Pairs champions Jenni Carmichael and Greg Humphreys
Jenni Carmichael and Greg Humphreys won the four-session Rockwell Mixed Pairs by more than two boards, reprising their 2016 victory in the event. Carmichael of Marysville WA and Humphreys of Charlottesville VA have dominated the contest over the past decade with two wins, a second-place finish in last year’s Mixed, and five other top-10 results.
Carmichael and Humphreys won the qualifying round of the Mixed Pairs on Tuesday, and maintained their lead throughout Wednesday’s final.
Second in the Rockwell Mixed Pairs: Mark Itabashi and Laura Brill
The winners finished with a score of 2671.24 matchpoints (77 = top). In second with 2512.55 were Mark Itabashi of Murrieta CA and Laura Brill of White Plains NY. Third place went to Sheila Gabay of Newton MA and Alan Watson of Lexington MA with 2490.69.
