Online Regional results

The Stay at Home, Play at Home Regional – the ACBL’s first online regional tournament – drew 5237 tables. Fourteen events were held over four days, with 4984 players gaining masterpoints.

Thursday, April 30

A St. Louis-area pair won the Open Pairs, Thursday’s lone event. Lee Hastings and Clay Cutherbertson scored 71.31%. In second were Oregonians Amy Casanova and Laurie Rowe. James Van Etten of State College PA and Keith Glover of Alpharetta GA were first in B and C. See results here.

Friday, May 1

On Friday there was a Gold Rush Pairs along with side games and 299er contests in the afternoon and evening. John Paul Temple and Kim Temple of Dallas TX won all flights of the Gold Rush Pairs. B. Haznedar of Houston and Anil Altindag of Turkey were second. See results here.
In the afternoon side game, winners were Terry McHenry and Gen Geiger of Sarasota FL. In second and first in B were John Ramos and Susan Morse-Lebow of Los Angeles. Georgia McGuire of Winchester MA and Stephen Spielman of Palm Beach Gardens FL were first in C. See results here.
In the afternoon 299er pairs, Glenn Heath and Tiffany Destephano of Las Vegas won all strats. Wolf Bolz of Raleigh NC and Dan Lazar of Woodbury NY were second. See results here.
In the evening side game, John Hurd and Gillian Miniter of New York won while the afternoon winners McHenry and Geiger were second. Linda Williams and Beverly Sheets of Indianapolis were first in B and C. See results here.
In the evening 299er pairs, winners were Pat Johnson and John Markvart of the Guelph ON area. Annette McCaffrey and Mary Jane Gelpi of Baton Rouge LA were second. The lowest strat was won by Eric Bonsignori of Savannah GA and Mary Castle, Yellow Springs OH. See results here.

Saturday, May 2

On Saturday there were Open and Gold Rush Pairs along with two side games. Jennifer Lin and Aaron Jones of North Bethesda MD won the Open Pairs with a 67.68%. In second were Nancy Kornegay and Stephen Kornegay of North Richland Hills TX. First in B were Alfred Fortier and Susan Kaplan of the Houston area. First in C, Charles Wiggins Jr., Indian Head Park IL, and James Collart, Lincoln CA. See results here.
John Yin of Southborough MA and Hongtao Ma of Rockville MD won all strats of the Gold Rush Pairs. In second were Jayson Rhuda and Stan Nissen of the Boston area. See results here.
Robert Kent and Ellen Kent of Chicago won the afternoon side game. Betty Oxley and Charles Oxley of Evansville IL were first in B and C and second overall. See results here.
In the evening side game, winners were Janet Treisman and Mitch Dunitz of the Los Angeles area. Andrew Rowberg of Goleta CA and Michael Swift of Lansing MI were second and first in B and C. See results here.

Sunday, May 3

Sunday’s events were the same as Saturday’s. Joe Grue and Gillian Miniter of New York won the Open Pairs. In second were Maximo Crusizio of Fort Lauderdale FL and Judy Fox of Virginia Beach VA. First in B were Vikram Srimurthy and Daniel Jablonski of the Boston area. First in C were Ashwini Datar and Vilas Namjoshi of the San Jose CA area. See results here.
Lynn Dondero of Sonoma CA and Karen Rocco of Petaluma CA won the Gold Rush Pairs. David Ow and Glenn Chee of Salina CA were second. The under-300 strat was won by Friday’s winners, the Temples of Dallas. Eric Weinstein and Julia Weinstein of Scarsdale NY won the under-100 strat. See results here.
Blacksburg VA pair Robert Schulman and Richard Rio won the afternoon side game, all strats. In second, Pangjie Xu and Winston Huang of the San Jose CA area. See results here.
In the evening side game, top honors went to Saturday afternoon winners the Kents of Chicago. Raluca Dobrescu and Brooke Cohen of New York were first and B and C and second overall. See results here.

Masterpoints

The tournament’s top four masterpoint earners were the winners of the afternoon and evening side game series: Terry McHenry, Gen Geiger, Robert Kent and Ellen Kent. Gillian Miniter was fifth. See masterpoint list here.
