Tournament officials at the Houston Regional reported the theft of an undetermined amount of cash after the entry sell on Wednesday, Jan. 30. ACBL tournament directors in Houston called police after discovering that the money was missing. The investigation is ongoing.
Although ACBL tournament directors follow safety protocols for cash sales, the ACBL encourages players and tournament officials to be vigilant as well. Additionally, the ACBL encourages units and districts to move as swiftly as possible to adopting credit card sales at all tournaments.
